North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores

Visitors to the aquarium will be awe-struck by the more than 3,000 specimens of North Carolina’s most colorful aquatic life, making it the largest saltwater aquarium in the state of North Carolina. The aquarium concentrates on eco-systems all native to North Carolina with exhibits emphasizing various marine habitats. The “Living Shipwreck” features a life-sized replica of a German U-352 submarine and Blackbeard’s infamous ship, The Queen Anne’s Revenge with a 60-foot viewing window.

Other attractions include a stingray touch-tank, a river otter exhibit, a mountain trout pool, a jellyfish gallery, a sport fishing gallery, and a rare (and quite famous) albino sea turtle named Nimbus. The aquarium itself resides in its own native North Carolina habitat, the 300-acre Roosevelt Maritime Forest.

The North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores also offers a unique wedding venue with incomparable backdrops for your rehearsal, ceremony, reception, or all three! The Aquarium can even help with an unforgettable, surprise proposal. The aquarium can also accommodate your meetings and groups.

You and your guests will find the atmosphere relaxing and memorable as you venture through our North Carolina aquatic environments. The Aquarium is available for rental during business hours for 130 or fewer, and for evening functions for up to 300.
