Crystal Coast Highland Games

October 31, 2020 | 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Among those is immigration of people from the island and Highlands of Scotland, with many of the current inhabitants and place names being of that Scottish heritage.  The gathering of groups of families in Scotland have been an important feature of Scottish culture, in the past as well as today. With the inclusion of competitions in dance, athletics and music these gatherings became known as Highland Games. Gathering of people of all origins is encouraged at Highland games that occur in North Carolina and across North America , with millions of people attending each year.  The skirl of bagpipes and the wearing of tartan and kilts along with the excitement of tossing the caber draw people back again and again.
