17th Annual Carolina Chocolate Festival

Chocolate lovers indulge! The annual Carolina Chocolate Festival takes place at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City and is packed with activities from tastings, demonstrations and Pro/Am and Junior bake-offs to relaxing at the spa. Check their website for details about each activity and to purchase tickets for any one of the five main events. All the proceeds from the Carolina Chocolate Festival benefit local charities. This festival has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Carteret County charities.

Battle of the Badges

This is an annual event that occurs once a month during January, February and March. All three dinners will feature the best French Cuisine (four course-meal). This amazingly unique event supports the CCC Culinary Program. The Culinary Program is vibrantly training tomorrow’s chefs. Carteret Community College is very proud that we send 3-4 students annually to France for a month internship. During this month-long trip the students train under the best French Escoffier Chefs in the world!

Bite through the night on the Morehead City Waterfront at Bites & Blues!

Tempt your palate with twenty two bites from locally owned restaurants as live blues music fills the waterfront. Use your ticket as your guide as you walk the Morehead City Waterfront, stopping at each waterfront restaurant or host business to taste a delicious “bite” from each locally-owned participating restaurant. Blues music will fill the air as bands and solo performers entertain attendees along the Waterfront route. At the end of the night, attendees will choose their favorite “Bite Of The Nite”. 34th Annual North Carolina Seafood Festival

The North Carolina Seafood Festival takes place on the Morehead City Waterfront. The largest three-day festival in North Carolina, its highlights are an endless variety of seafood prepared in a multitude of ways, street dances, concerts, arts and crafts (about 200 vendors), Flounder Fling and an International Award-Winning Chef’s Tent, Southern Outer Banks Boat Show, educational exhibits, hands-on programs for kids and rides and games. Saturday night fireworks are enjoyed by festival goers and neighbors alike. The festivities are spread from the North Carolina State Port to 11th Street on the beautiful Morehead City waterfront. Free parking is available at the port on Saturday and Sunday with shuttles transporting festival-goers to the fun. Admission is always free, but bring cash for all the extras that will tempt your wallet!

2nd Annual Diamond City Gala Art and Music Festival

Diamond City Gala is a non-profit organization annually celebrating local history, art and music while raising money to support our local community. Diamond City Gala is named after the historic village called Diamond City which was a fishing and whaling village on Shackleford Banks. It was called Diamond City in reference to the diamonds on the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. Across the sound is nearby Morehead City. The Diamond City Gala is held in Morehead City, and its name reflects the heritage of the region. The Diamond City Gala will be held October 17, 2020. The event takes place in Morehead City from 12-6 pm at MLK, Jr. Park which is located at the intersection of 10th and Arendell Street (behind the historic train depot).

11th Annual Chowder & Cheer

The 11th Annual Chowder and Cheer takes place with over 20 different restaurants participating from 1pm until 5pm.
