The Coastal Cohorts will be performing their one-of-a-kind show King Mackerel & The Blues Are Running on April 8 and 9 to celebrate the 35th and 25th anniversaries of the North Carolina Coastal Federation and the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center.

This special anniversary celebration at Joslyn Hall in Morehead City features a Saturday evening show that starts at 7:30 p.m. and includes the Cast Party with the Cohorts following the show. There will also be a Sunday matinee show that starts at 3 p.m.

The Cohorts bring their love of the seashore to the stage with a musical blend of folk, soul and rock music. The Cohorts’ original music celebrates life on the Carolina coast with a combination of ballads and upbeat tunes, flavored by humor and poetry.

The group first performed King Mackerel & The Blues Are Running in 1985 in Chapel Hill and has since taken the show up and down the coast, from New York to Georgia.

Tickets for the Saturday evening show are $50 for federation or museum members and include admission to the Cast Party. They are $60 for non-members. Sunday matinee show tickets are $30 for members and $40 for non-members.

Tickets can be purchased at nccoast.org/events. Sponsorship opportunities are available for this event. For more information, contact Catherine Snead at 252-393-8185 or at [email protected]
