What began as a funky food truck by the beach has evolved into yet another one of the Crystal Coast’s favorite foodie finds.

Imagined into existence by local chef and restaurateur Clarke Merrell, Dank Burrito began serving their unique tacos and burritos in May 2014, driving throughout the Crystal Coast and gaining a quick and enthusiastic following. As their popularity grew – notably winning Mobile Cuisine’s National Food Truck Rookie of the Year – Merrell knew the business was bigger than the truck.

In October 2015, Dank Burrito opened its doors in Morehead City as a brick-and-mortar operation, which means visitors and locals alike are sure to find their favorite Dank creation, no matter the time or day.

Why “dank?” To Clarke and general manager, Robert McGinnis, the word “dank” means fresh or of high quality, and Dank Burrito is based on that principle of natural, delicious food, and it is anything but ordinary. The Dank Burrito team creates unique, chef-inspired creations day-in and day-out with menu favorites like Cajun Fried Mahi, Jerk Chicken, Asian Pulled Pork and Teriyaki Shrimp, each available in tacos, a burrito or burrito bowl. Plus, house-made guacamole and salsas complement every dish.
