Beach safety on North Carolina's Crystal Coast is a top concern of the Crystal Coast Tourism Authority. Driving on the beach is allowed only in the following towns and during the following times listed below: Atlantic Beach The cost for a beach driving permit is $50. Weekday daytime permits are purchased through the Town Hall. Please visit the Atlantic Beach Police Station for night and weekend beach driving permits. Please call 252-726-2121 for more information. Emerald Isle For more detailed information on Emerald Isle's beach driving permits, please visit the town's website. Click here. Indian Beach/Salter Path Beach driving is allowed from the Wednesday following Labor Day until the last Sunday in May before Memorial Day weekend. Permits to drive on the beach are issued by the Indian Beach/Salter Path Town Hall or Police Department. The cost of a permit is $20 for the season or $10 for seven days. For more information, call 252-247-3344. Pine Knoll Shores Driving on the beach in Pine Knoll Shores is not permitted at any time of the year. |
