Reenactments at Fort Macon State Park

History comes alive when the 11th Regiment dons Confederate regalia and demonstrates what life was like during the Civil War. Musket and cannon firing demonstrations, accurate dress, and living history all lead up to a mock attack on the Fort by Union troops to show how the soldiers would defend against a land attack. Beaufort Pirate Invasion

Eat heartily, drink grog, and party like a pirate! In 1747, Beaufort townspeople and farmers joined against a band of invading pirates, and won. Naturally, we throw a party to celebrate. The event begins with the Pirates Procession downtown, and features a mock battle, trials, and a celebration worthy of Blackbeard himself.
