Emerald Isle is home of 5 miles of pristine beaches and great surf along the Southern Outer Banks. Wide beaches, dotted by beach homes and the Bogue Inlet Pier, you will find Emerald Isle to be a family-oriented place where you and your loved ones can build lasting memories Summer after Summer.
Whether your interests are swimming, fishing, boogie boarding, surfing, kiting or just relaxing in your beach chair, Emerald Isle has gorgeous beaches adorned by pristine, warm, turquoise ocean waters.
The “Point” is on the Western most end of Emerald Isle and borders the Atlantic Ocean and Bogue Inlet...A beautiful expanse of white sandy beaches and a gorgeous location for romantic sunsets. It is also the sight of great surf fishing where conditions are perfect for landing blues, mackerel and flounder during Summer months and citation drum and specs during the height of Fall fishing. Driving is permitted on the beaches from September 15th-April 30th for a small fee.
The Bogue Inlet pier is an old Carolina wood pier steeped in history from the 1950’s. It is newly rebuilt since hurricane Irene and has a brand new observation deck for a bird’s eye view of the ocean and beaches, and boasts an area at the end of the pier for Spanish and King Mackerel fishing enthusiasts. Not only does it offer fisherman the opportunity to cast out further into the ocean but it also creates perfect waves for surfers!
Emerald Isle is home to a wonderful 4th of July fireworks display, a super fun St. Patrick’s Day Celebration in March, Flounder Surf Fishing Tournament in Sept/Oct, and Christmas Parade Thanksgiving weekend.
